I cannot recommend Eric enough! I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I brought my one-year old dog to Eric out of desperation, as he had changed from a loveable pup into a dog that would bite at me constantly, not nip, bite. His behavior included jumping on people, counter surfing, and stealing things from the laundry or anywhere he could find something he shouldn’t have.

Eric said in one visit we would take care of these things and I didn’t believe him. He was right!!! My dog is now back to being my buddy and his behavior has turned around completely. I can tell that he is a happier dog, not so stressed all of the time. The training is straightforward, logical, and fast. Please know that I take reviews very seriously as I use them myself, so this is a very honest review.

Highly recommended dog trainer. We took our anxious and reactive one-year old German Shepard to Eric and he had him under control within 10 minutes of the first session. His methodology is well thought out but so easy to follow. After being to another trainer and a veterinary behaviorist, we were becoming so frustrated with having a ‘reactive dog’, and having been told that he needed to be on medication for his behavior and anxiety. Eric has already proven that is not true and that his method works. Best decision enroll in his program.

Eric is amazing! We have a Bernese Mountain dog and have completed other training classes prior to enrolling in Eric’s course, but none of them had worked. The first time we met with Eric, we were blown away at how knowledgeable he was. He’s personable and has a great teaching style that works! Our dog, Murphy, learned more in the first 45 minutes spent with Eric than in all of his other previous puppy classes combined. The biggest thing we were struggling with was Murphy pulling too hard on the leash when we walked him. This is common for Berners and since they grow really fast, it almost became too difficult to walk him at all. After just one class with Eric, Murphy’s behavior improved significantly and now we are able to enjoy calm, peaceful walks that we initially never thought were possible. We would recommend Eric to anyone who has a dog and is interested in teaching basic commands and especially to those who are struggling with breaking bad behavior with their dog. Thank you, Eric!!!

We adopted a dog from a shelter 3 years ago.  He’s an amazing animal but would bark at anything and would never stop.  No matter what we did we couldn’t get him to control his barking or charging people.  We finally decided to try a dog trainer. We weren’t expecting it to work but Eric promised us that he could get our dog to stop this behavior.  Eric came to our house and in one session was able to train our pup.  He now no longer yells at us.  The best part is that his anxiety level has gone down tremendously.  I am thrilled that we found Eric and will be calling him again if and when we adopt more dogs.  I strongly recommend Eric for any doggie needs!!!

Long Version:
Let me tell you about my three dogs. Bosco, a toy fox terrier, is nearing 13, and has been barking all his life. At cars driving by, people coming in the house, footsteps, the wind. My mom elected to have him de-barked. Twice. The surgery didn’t work either times because he barks that much, that often. We would yell at him all the time to be quiet (and go figure, it never worked). We never thought we could teach an old dog a new trick- or in this case, get Bosco to stop barking. Now, with the methods Eric showed us, Bosco has finally learned to stop barking with one simple word: “no”. No begging or pleading to get him to stop. Just a no, and he returns to being quiet.

Charlie is a 2 year old Kooikerhondje. He is great, and I have no issues with him. Charlie’s best friend, our neighbor’s dog Laken, comes over to play with him often.

Lilly, a chihuahua (how stereotypical) is 10, and is dog aggressive. She has barked at other dogs her entire life, even attempted to go after them before, no matter how much bigger than her they are. Whenever Laken (Charlie’s friend) comes over for a “play-date”, she will bark non-stop and chase after Laken. Even when we keep Lilly inside, she will bark and bark, then get Bosco going. And just like with Bosco, Eric was able to help Lilly.

In just one session this happened. Not only were we able to quickly resolve a life-long problem Lilly and Bosco have had, but he is also a really nice person and easy to talk to! I know that I was scared at first to reach out to someone about my dog’s problems, but he made it so easy and worthwhile to seek help.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We rescued our 11-month old lab/hound mix, Kaya, and within only a week of having her we needed serious help with her reactive behavior within the apartment… It was getting to the point where we dreaded taking her out. Kaya is the sweetest dog but the second another dog came into the picture her personality completely switched and she became vicious. Within leaving our first session with Eric, the problem was FIXED! I couldn’t believe it… BEST INVESTMENT!! With her reactive behavior fixed, her quality of life went up as did mine because we were stress free walking by other dogs. After that, the dog group classes were a great way to socialize Kaya and learn awesome tricks and tips that help her behavior even more so. Go to Eric, it is worth it.

Eric corrected our little guy’s leash reactivity issue easily in one visit. We were even able to attend a 5k dog walk with over 100 dogs without any bad behavior from our dog. Our dog is a happy pup with lots of dog friends thanks to Eric’s help!

I felt my dog was untrainable when I brought her to Eric. He assured me she was trainable. I basically told him he had his work cut out for him and didn’t think it possible. I have to say I was impressed after just 5 minutes of his time,  that’s right just 5 min. My little Joy is not the same dog her behavior has improved for the better. I feel less stressed about being out with her and find my self not raising my voice anymore. My family and I could not recommend anyone better than Eric!!!

Eric Letendre’s dog training is the best!! I got everything I was promised and more. He told me my 10-month old Boerboel, who was lacking some manners, would no longer have that problem when we were done training. I believed him because he is an honorable person… but I didn’t really think it would be THAT FAST.  Training and knowledge given is unbeatable. Eric you have made me and Max much wiser and happier. My husband and I were struggling with our chocolate lab puppy and his biting despite all the directions in our puppy training book and on-line help. We chose Eric for training because Rick had used his program before and was happy with his results. We met with Eric and after one session with Eric “Duff” the pup was like a new dog. Eric’s training made sense and works! I would highly recommend Eric’s dog training for anyone his approach with the dogs and their families is great. He teaches with humor and effectiveness. We have seen the positive affect after every lesson and are greatful to have the tools that really make a difference!

This man knows dogs! I brought my two dogs in for training because I couldn’t figure out how to get them to listen on my own. I grew up with dogs my whole life and was skeptical at first about how much a training class would help. After one class, it was like I had two different animals. Eric was very knowledgeable, and made the lessons easy to understand and the results are practically instant. I cannot recommend him highly enough if you are having any difficulties at all with your dogs.

I was desperate to get help for my Teacup Chihuahua, Badger, that I thought had become aggressive. He would bark, growl and snap at everyone that came anywhere near him or my truck.

In looking for a trainer, I came across a YouTube video of Eric working with a Rottweiler, and as I watched additional videos of Eric, I was thinking this looks like the guy I needed. I called and Eric’s wife, Rachael, was just so calming and made me feel like there was hope for Badger and myself. Amazing, is the only word that I can use to explain Eric and his skills with dogs. His individual and group training classes are very helpful and informative. Badger was immediately a changed dog the very first lesson we had. I learned he was not aggressive, but scared and it was a coping mechanism to keep people away. Badger now works as a service dog and visits nursing homes and loves attention of children. I definitely have and will continue to recommend Eric if someone needs help with their dog. I honestly carry a supply of his business cards everywhere and have had to re-stock, as I give them out so often. I have been living with a very reactive Border Terrier for the past five years. I went to a training class in my area and got zero results. I had worked with Eric years ago in Newington, CT and finally being completely exasperated with my dog’s behavior around other dogs, I made the two hour trip from Manchester, CT to see Eric at his dog training school in Westport, MA for a training session.

Our six-month old golden retriever’s behavior was quite unruly before we met Eric. Her biting, jumping, and freshness were just unbearable. After just one lesson with Eric we had a new dog. Eric was a huge help to our family and continually follows up with us to make sure everything is going smoothly or if new problems have surfaced. Can’t say enough about Eric and his approach to training dogs. We are so thankful and would recommend him to any dog owner.

My son and I adopted a 14-month old Black Lab mix last November. He’s the sweetest dog in the world and HE quickly trained US!!  We took him to Petco where they taught us how to give simple commands, sit, stay down, etc. Meanwhile it came to a point where having the dog near me was not enjoyable. He was constantly jumping on me, barking if I didn’t give him 100 % of my attention and the biggest problem was taking him for walks. If he saw another animal, he would bark like crazy and pull me so hard that I would almost fall. I feared he’d get hit by a car because I couldn’t hold him back. So I stopped walking him. Only my adult son was strong enough. I had had enough so I googled dog trainer and read Eric’s reviews and called him.
